The main components of the film switch include the following:

Panel layer:

The panel layer is generally made of colorless transparent sheets such as PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and PC (polycarbonate), which are less than 0.25mm, with exquisite patterns and text.

The main role of the panel layer is to play the role of identification and buttons, so the selection of materials must have high transparency, high ink adhesion, high elasticity, folding resistance and other characteristics.

Cushion layer:

The main function of the cushion layer is to closely connect the panel layer and the circuit layer to achieve sealing and connection.

This layer is generally required to be between 0.02 and 0.05 mm thick, with high viscosity and anti-aging.

In the production, the general selection of special film switch double-sided tape. Some film switches require water resistance and high temperature resistance, so the rubber layer must also use materials of different properties according to needs.

Control circuit upper and lower:

Both layers use a good performance polyester film (PET) as the carrier of the switching circuit pattern, and on it with a special process to screen silver paste, carbon paste or gold paste, so that it has conductive properties.

Its thickness is generally within 0.05~0.175 mm, and 0.125 mm PET is commonly used.

Isolation layer:

The isolation layer is located between the upper circuit and the lower circuit layer, which acts as a seal and connection.

Generally, PET double-sided tape is used, and its thickness ranges from 0.05 to 0.2 mm.

When selecting this layer material, the overall thickness of the product, insulation, circuit key feel and tightness should be considered.

Glue on:

The use of backglue is closely related to what kind of material the film switch is pasted with.

Commonly used are ordinary double-sided tape, 3M glue, waterproof glue and so on.
